DocYantra is the open-source processing engine behind DocKosha's validated Office and PDF path, licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later. Work outside its documented envelope fails closed instead of degrading quietly.
Rust processing inside your application
DocYantra provides the same supported document-processing path in DocKosha Cloud and self-hosted builds. Its packages run inside the application; no separate conversion service is required.

Multilingual, high-fidelity output
DocYantra can produce validated PDFs with compact glyph-subset fonts embedded, and resolve fonts on demand for math, symbol, and CJK coverage in supported Office documents.

Clear format boundaries
- The DocYantra path converts modern DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, and XLSM files to PDF and renders CSV and Markdown.
- Legacy .doc, .ppt, and .xls files and unsupported document features are rejected with typed errors.
- CJK text in supported Office documents is supported; vertical text layout is not and fails closed.

DocKosha checks the format, size, and processing envelope before any document work begins.
Convert in an isolated worker
The DocYantra worker converts the document within a finite deadline; unsupported work returns a typed failure.
Publish validated output
Only a validated PDF becomes the viewer asset; failed conversions fail closed and leave the original available.
